We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our dynamic team

As Strategic Sourcing manager, you will be responsible for a range of strategic procurement activities to ensure supplier performance and development on both short and long-term basis, as you drive the procurement agenda in the organization. As the role is new within the procurement organisation, you together with the VP of de department, define and develop the role within the organisation.


Responsibilities at a glance:

Customer Satisfaction:

Does all necessary that’s possible within the internal agreements and processes to service our customer with the highest possible service.

Responsibility for arranging all outbound and inbound logistics:

  • Responsible of certain direct and indirect spend categories.

  • Coach other purchase team members in developing their categories on a strategic level.

  • Design and execute sourcing strategies to extract supply-side savings and manage demand-side consumption in order to lower the company’s total cost.

  • Relationship management with key suppliers in responsible categories

  • Annual planning and implementation of sourcing activities

  • Responsible for sourcing of new suppliers

  • Responsible for supporting demand and supply planning managed my operations teams

  • Vendor auditing and claim management

  • Negotiations with keys supplier (Price, Lead Time, Payment Conditions, T&Cs)

  • Support the implementation of innovative new raw material solutions.

  • Work with the New Product Development team, ensure early supplier engagement in the areas of material selection and specification development and facilitating technical and commercial communication between suppliers and project team to improve quality and cost.

  • Main contact person for the group and other Business Lines purchase teams (BU materials).

  • Identify process improvements and cost efficiencies

  • Keep undated over current and future trends in the industry and in the marketplace

  • Perform supplier market analysis, category analysis, and supply risk analysis.

Job requirements

You will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a strategic buyer / sourcer, preferable in the agriculture business or other dynamic business area

  • Analytical and proactive thinker and problem solver

  • Solid proficiency in ERP software, Power BI and MS Office applications (professional excel skills)

  • Knowledge and understanding of contract language required

  • Proven negotiating skills

  • Process development experience

  • Fluency in spoken and written Dutch and English. A good business level of the German languages is required. 

  • Analytical skills

  • Commercial thinking, customer understanding

  • Effective networking and collaboration in matrix organization
